Confidence & Independence
Your child is becoming more independent, asking deeper questions, and eager to make sense of the world around them. At Stepping Stones @ Yerrabi Ponds, our preschool environment is warm, supportive and designed to guide children as they build confidence, strengthen friendships, and prepare for their next big step. Through play-based learning, meaningful interactions and open-ended experiences, we encourage creativity, problem-solving and independence — all at each child’s own pace.
Supporting Your Child’s Development
We follow a child-led, inquiry-based approach that encourages preschoolers to ask questions, test ideas, and explore what matters to them. At this age, children are natural investigators — curious, capable, and eager to understand how the world works.
Our educators support and extend this curiosity by listening closely, asking thoughtful questions, and helping children build the confidence to explore new concepts through play and conversation.
-
Children are supported to make choices, take responsibility and trust in their own abilities.
-
We encourage respectful conversations, group play, and ways for children to express themselves clearly and confidently.
-
Foundational skills are nurtured through hands-on experiences that support early literacy, numeracy and problem-solving.
-
Through consistent routines, gentle guidance, and reflection, children learn how to manage big feelings and respond to others with empathy.

Your child’s environment plays a big role in how they learn. Our preschool spaces are set up to encourage independence, teamwork, and critical thinking, giving children the freedom to make decisions for themselves.

A Day in Preschool
Each day in our preschool room follows a gentle rhythm that balances learning, play and rest. Children are welcomed into familiar routines and caring relationships, helping them start the day with confidence. Group experiences include hands-on activities that build problem-solving skills, social connection and collaboration. Outdoor play offers space to run, climb and explore nature, supporting both physical development and a sense of wonder. Creativity is encouraged through music, movement and art, while regular meals and quiet rest help children feel nourished and refreshed.
